Weather conditions:  Summer (June-August) daytime air temperature +18.+24° C (max +34° C), night-time +3.+11° C (ground frost occur). Rains are short and lavish.

Day 1
Arrive to Almaty. Transfer to hotel. City sightseeing (3 hours) including visit to the National State Museum, Musical Folk Instruments Museum . Hotel.
Day 2
Transfer to the Canyons of Charyn River (210 km) - 3 hours. Picnic in the Big Red Canyon. Drive to Karkara Base Camp (150 km). Accommodation in family tents. Sauna, bar. Camp (2200 m). 
Day 3

Drive across the Aktog Pass (3481m) to the Kyrghizstan border at Echkilitash. Then,  follow the Tyuz River to the foot of the Tyuz Pass. Camp.

Day 4

Trek through a narrow river gorge to a camp at 3500 metres near a small glacier  flowing down from the pass. 4-5 hours. Camp.

Day 5

Trek across the Tyuz Pass (4001m) with views over the Tien Shan mountains and the deep gorge of the Inylchek River. Descend to the alpine meadows of Chon Tash. Camp 

Day 6

We climb to reach a crossing point on the Inylchek Glacier and descend again to camp in the ablation valley on its south side at around 3200 metres. Camp

Day 7

Trek along the ablation valley beside the glacier to the Mertzbakher  alpine meadow camp at  around 3300 metres where there is a climbers’ bivouac. Camp

Day 8

A rest day in this beautiful green campsite. There is the option to trek to the  Mertzbakher Lake which is full of icebergs. Camp

Day 9

Leaving the meadow we trek along the South Inylchek Glacier towards Khan Tengri . Camp

Day 10

 We continue along the glacier through the stunning landscape of the Tien Shan mountains. Camp

Day 11

Today we reach the area known as South Inylchek Base camp which will also be our base for the next two days of exploration. Camp.

Day 12
Exploration above camp to the foot of Peak Khan Tengri. Camp
Day 13
Further exploration trekking to the foot of Peak Pobedy. Camp
Day 14
Today we make a dramatic flight by helicopter to Karkara. Camp.
Day 15
We make the return drive to Almaty where we check in to the group hotel. Hotel.
Day 16
Transfer to the airport for flight home.
