Weather conditions:  In the desert area: daytime air temperature +22.+30? C (max +41 ? C), and nighttime +8.+16? C. Rains are rare. Wind speed 2-3 m/c. Strong winds 15 m/c are seldom.

Day 1
Arrive Almaty. Transfer to hotel.
Day 2
City tour (including visit to the National Museum)- 3 hours. Transfer to the village for the show of traditional Kazakh horse games:
  • "Kokpar" The horse-riders of the two teams try to snatch the goat's carcass and bring it to their half of the field outside the special line. The more times the team brings the goat's carcass outside the special line the more points the team will get.
  • "Kyz kuu" The horseman tries to catch the girl galloping away at full speed at the distance of 200m. If the horseman succeeds to do that he has the right to kiss her. If he fails to do that then the girl tries to catch galloping away loser and whipped him.
  • "Audyryspak" Two wrestling horseman tries to push out each other off the saddle.
  • "Kumys-alu" "Kumys-alu" Galloping horseman tries to pick up silver coins scattered on the earth. The picked up coins will be the prize for the dexterous rider.
  • "Tai-baiga" "Tai-baiga" Horse-race at the distance of 2 km. Horse exercising of the   best local Asian breed: Ahal-tekinsky, Arabian, English, trotter and local horses. Visit to Sheber Aul ( Artisan Village), lunch at jurt-restoraunt in national style. Hotel.
Day 3
Riding to Terekter Gorge - 2 hours. Sightseeing of the rock carvings (II Century BC). Riding across Kyzylaus Pass (1240 m) to the Kyzylaus Gorge - 3 hours. Here one can often see herds of ibex. Camp nearby mountain foothill on the stream bank (710 m)
Day 4
Riding to the valley to Besshatyr Necropolis (VII -V Century BC) - 5 hours. Necropolis sightseeing. Camp (690m)
Day 5
Riding along the valley to Mynbulak Gorge ("One Thousand Springs") - 6 hours. Here one can see herds of onagrs (wild donkey). Camp (690m).
Day 6
Riding to Kosbastau Spring, located in Turang Grove - 5 hours. Riding to Singing Sand Dunes situated between mountains Ulken-Kalkan (1280m) and Kysty-Kalkan (956m) - 1 hour. Camp nearby Singing Sand Dunes (480m).
Day 7
Riding along the bank via dried river-beds and saxaul bushes to Kumkala Sands - 6 hours. Here one can often see herds of gazelles and flocks of desert birds. Camp in Kumkala Sands (500m).
Day 8
Riding along the bank via dried river-beds and saxaul bushes to the Aktau Mountains - 6 hours. Camp in Aktau Mountains (640m).
Day 9
Riding in the valley along the Aktau Mountains (893m) to the Bokabaidyn-Ashasy River - 5 hours. Camp (560m).
Day 10
Transfer to Charyn Red Canyon of the Charyn River (180km) - 3 hours. Canyon sightseeing - 2 hours. Transfer to Almaty (210km) - 3 hours. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 11
Excursion to the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments (including folk performance) - 2 hours. Visit to the Oriental Basaar and souvenir shops. Visit to Shibberaul Village (village of the Artisans of the traditional handycsaft). Traditional style dinner at the restaurant. Hotel.
Day 12
Transfer to the airport. Fly home.
